Interesting Facts

Environment
We have a strong environmental policy in which we encourage our guests to become involved, as we act as facilitators to help guests interface with the local San Bushmen and Hambukushu tribes, (read Dear Mr. Westerner) and so get an understanding of their symbiosis with the environment, hopefully stimulating a life long commitment to protecting the dynamics of the area, as well as constructively supporting a workable future. 95% of our staff are local people, and we work within their traditional social structures & value system.

Okavango Delta Swamps in Namibia
Our Namibian Okavango Delta Swamp ‘Mokoro/Watu’ canoe safari is unbeatable value, taking you from Popa Falls via a San Bushman or Mbukushu settlement, gliding past islands and swamps, while seeing crocs, hippos and otters in the river, followed by a game drive in the park, home to a myriad of plains game as well as elephant, lion, Wild dog and buffalo.

Game & Birds
There is exceptional game viewing in the Mahango National Park next door (see the world’s largest herds of the rare sable and roan antelope). Bird watching is excellent, with over 500 species, there are guided walking, mokoro and canoe safaris, as well as cultural village experiences, sunset cruises or a day trip to see Bushman art at Tsodillo Hills.

Getting There
2 wheel drive access is now possible throughout the year as we have constructed a new access road and bridge across the flood plains – or perhaps charter a plane to Bagani or Shakawe, and we will do the rest. Try our chill out accommodation ….. any of it!
Plan a Safari

We suggest that one of our agent/operators could organise a safari for you - possibly start in Windhoek, drive via Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Etosha National park, Ngepi, Chobe National park Botswana and then to Victoria falls. In this way you would see the desert, the cold west coast, vast dry pans of Etosha, Ngepi Okavango Delta panhandle experience with animals, Chobe’s many Elephants and the mighty Victoria falls before flying home from there or Kasane in Botswana. Or perhaps another itinerary that would suit you better.....?
